A life championing cheese: Juliet Harbutt

Juliet has indeed spent her life championing cheese.

Not so long ago, we received a lovely e-mail from the world renowned cheese master Juliet Harbutt, full of support for the work we are doing with NZ cheese makers. A key milestone in The Cheese Wheel journey!

We went and met Juliet in the warm and stunning Hawkes Bay where Juliet lives with her cute little dog. We felt privileged to have a conversation about New Zealand Cheese with Juliet. We talked about the cheese makers she likes, her favorite cheeses in the country, and her best cheeses not in NZ, and of course the cheese boxes we’ve been putting together over the past years for our Cheese Wheelers.

It’s no surprise that Juliet has settled in the Hawkes Bay, which counts several outstanding cheese makers part of The Cheese Wheel. Over the years we have featured Craggy Range Sheep Dairy, Nieuwenhuis and of course Hohepa Cheese in your monthly cheese boxes.
