February 26

Welcome to our Cheese box 84 – February 26!
NEW NZ CHEESE MAKER!
We’ve just found out, this month about a brand-new range of NZ-made artisan cheese. We hope this news will get you as excited as us! For tasting very soon in one of your coming Cheese Boxes…
FARMHOUSE CHEESE – FROM FERNGLEN FARM
”Farmhouse cheese” is cheese produced on-farm in small quantities using traditional techniques. This delicious one has a sweet mild nutty cheese when young, which intensifies into a nutty sharp flavour as it reaches maturity. Superb with a slice of tomato warm from the vine, and a glass of fresh lager, a Chardonnay or a blackberry kombucha.
Region: Wairarapa. Type of milk: sheep
WALNUT & FENUGREEK BEL PASO – FROM MERCER CHEESE
We’re excited to feature this award-winning cheese in our box this month. It’s very creamy, crunchy, and tasty thanks to the chunks of walnuts and fenugreek seeds. Try it with a light whisky, a Sauvignon Blanc, or maybe even a ginseng tea. Great in a sandwich or just nibbled.
Region: Auckland. Type of milk: cow
KALLARNEY BLUE – FROM THE CHEESE BARN
A Roquefort-style creamy blue with a full-bodied flavour, and a standout looks with its closed texture without many eyes. It’s made in Cathy and Kelvin’s cheese factory, where they also run a lovely café. Match it with a big Cabernet Sauvignon or a Merlot, maybe a cider or a lager, or a cherry juice, and some nuts like walnuts, almonds, or hazelnuts.
Region: Waikato Type of milk: cow
CAMBLU – FROM ORIGIN EARTH
A brand-new cheese by the Origin Earth team based in Hawkes Bay. Camblu is creamy, smooth and beautifully balanced. Perfect with fresh bread, enjoy with a dry Riesling, a mildly bitter hoppy IPA or a blackberry mocktail.
Region: Hawkes Bay Type of milk: cow
