CHEESE BOX 67 –
November 24
Welcome to our Cheese box 67 – November 24!
EXCITEMENT! A unique cheese just for you!
We’re excited because this month we bring you a one-off cheese you won’t find anywhere else and it’s delicious and it’s named after Nancy Guerin, one of our founders. It’s all part of supporting new cheesemakers in New Zealand, and it’s also fun! Damian, the cheese maker would love your feedback, so do share your tasting thoughts on our social media or email us directly.
Mangawhai Road Corner Paddock are fairly new to the NZ cheese scene. Their story became interesting for us cheese fans when they bought a herd of River Rhine Italian Buffalos. More about Damian, Sue and their cheese from our website at thecheesewheel.co.nz/cheese-makers.
LIMITED EDITION CHRISTMAS CHEESE BOX AND…
A BRAND NEW CHEESE CREATION
We’re also excited because orders are open for our limited edition Christmas Cheese Box! It always sells like hot Christmas mince pies so be in quick, there is a capped number available – and this year it includes a fabulous new Back Garlic and Truffle cheese log from the talented French-Kiwi cheese maker Anabelle from Anabelle Fine Cheeses. Doesn’t it look irresistible?

MT NANCY ALPINE STYLE– FROM MANGAWHAI ROAD CORNER PADDOCK
It’s important to support new cheesemakers and we’re thrilled to feature this exciting new cheese from Mangawhai Road Corner Paddock, created by Damian and his team just for you Cheese Wheelers. Look for a dry rose, an IPA or a lightly flavoured carbonated water.
Region: Northland. Type of milk: buffalo
TEMPTATION- FROM KERVELLA CHEESE
Gabrielle and Alan excel at cheese making, as you may have seen in their Country Calendar episode. This white blue cheese (bends your mind a bit that) is both creamy and tangy. Find a quality toasty bubbles, pale ale or feijoa kombucha and enjoy with some slices of ripe pear.
Region: Nelson-Tasman. Type of milk: cow
ROBILIONO – FROM KINGSMEADE CHEESE
A spectacular fresh cheese made by the talented Miles King to celebrate Spring. The fresh Spring milk makes this cheese even more creamy and delicious. It’s an Italian style cheese with a light citrus flavour. Pour the whey out, rip some of that baguette off and top it with this, matched with a pinot blanc, a light IPA, or light raspberry fizz.
Region: Wairarapa. Type of milk: cow
CHILI SOFT GOAT CHEEESE – FROM CRANKY GOAT
We don’t pick a lot of flavoured cheeses, but this is a very worthy example of the style. The chili adds depth without distracting from the texture. Try it with a malbec, a Belgian style beer, or a quality cola
Region: Marlborough. Type of milk: goat
